Lakeview Technology Partners with PFW Systems Corporation to Deliver Continuous Operations and Meet 24/7 Business Continuity Requirements

IntelliDealer Users Safeguard Critical Business Processes with MIMIX® Information Availability Solutions

Spring COMMON, Minneapolis – March 27, 2006 – Lakeview Technology (Lakeview), the information availability company, today announced a new business partner relationship with PFW Systems Corporation, the leading developer of management software for equipment dealerships throughout North America.

The partnership pairs MIMIX high availability, and data protection and recovery solutions with PFW’s market-leading IntelliDealer management software to safeguard important business applications and databases. PFW users can easily eliminate unplanned downtime, such as network failures or power outages, as well as planned outages due to server maintenance, system upgrades or other routine tasks.

“Lakeview’s business continuity technology helps us offer a complete solutions portfolio to support our IntelliDealer customers as well as those customers that are using earlier versions of our software,” said Robert Morton, President, PFW Systems.  “Moreover, we have built our reputation on delivering the highest quality dealer management system to our customers. By adding Lakeview’s MIMIX solutions, our client’s information, data and systems will be protected should they experience an interruption in their daily transactions,” said Morton.

Proven MIMIX technology supports multiple operating systems, including i5/OS®, Windows®, UNIX® and Linux®.  MIMIX dr1™ for i5/OS provides a straightforward, affordable data protection and recovery solution that protects PFW users’ data and applications, offers easy-to-use management tools, and assures information synchronicity for fast, reliable recovery. MIMIX ha1™ for i5/OS, Linux, UNIX and Windows provides high availability of vital data and applications. The solution monitors hardware and application software, detects failure and can automatically switch operations to a secondary server.

“Together with PFW we deliver 24/7 confidence to our customers -- their business operations remain intact no matter what the circumstances,” said Steve DiLiberto, Lakeview’s Vice President of Business Development. “With several easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain data protection options, customers can focus on their most pressing business needs instead of worrying about system downtime,” DiLiberto added.

A Review of Availability Technologies

When it comes to critical business data and applications, it is all about availability. You can build or buy the world’s most sophisticated business systems, but if you cannot reliably access them and their related data when you need them, they are worthless.

Obviously, you don’t want to leave your business exposed to downtime. But things occasionally go wrong. Every once in a while, a major catastrophe shuts down an entire data center at some company. And, sooner or later, every organization will experience a sudden hardware or software failure that could shut down its operations, unless it takes adequate precautions. Yet, much more often, your business will be stopped or curtailed not by something going wrong, but by perfectly normal and necessary planned maintenance. Furthermore, once your business operations scale up to take full advantage of your system’s speed and advanced-processing capabilities, attempting to continue business operations once they’ve gone down may be utterly impossible, even during planned downtime.

Availability doesn’t just happen. Specialized technologies and comprehensive strategies are required to ensure that your data and applications remain available even in the face of disasters or hardware and software failures, as well as during inevitable planned maintenance. This paper looks at some of these specialized technologies.
