Pine Bush Equipment Co., Inc.

Not content to rest on its laurels, Pine Bush Equipment is currently in the process of streamlining many of its internal processes in an effort to further improve its efficiency and service. Part of the streamlining process has been the implementation of PFW’s Wireless Inventory Control applications as well as the IntelliTech service technician time management and information system. As of late 2007, Pine Bush Equipment has also utilized PFW’s Label Printing Solution to help save time and make life easier at the dealership.

“We were in the midst of developing a new Asset Inventory Management process and needed a solution for bar-coding equipment for use with Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) in the yard. PFW’s Label Printing Solution, with its thermal label, gave us the durability we were looking for along with the ability for yard workers to use handheld interfaces. We have bar-coded all of our yard locations so scanning the unit numbers and their locations using the PDAs saves us time finding equipment,” says George Varianides, Manager of Information Technology at Pine Bush Equipment.

Prior to implementing PFW’s Label Printing Solution as part of the PFW IntelliDealer Dealership Management System, Pine Bush Equipment used a third-party bar-code labeling software package in conjunction with a laser printer. After witnessing the speed and durability of the Label Printing Solution’s Zebra S4M printer and the clarity of its labels, Pine Bush Equipment had the solution and Zebra printer installed at each of its three locations.

“The integration with the PFW Intelli-Dealer system and specifically the Wireless Inventory Control application was a huge benefit. Being able to scan stock numbers with a PDA is a huge timesaver and another definite benefit. We are hoping to get even more functionality out of the Label Printing Solution and be able to use it as a part of our Rental Returns Process with future releases of PFW IntelliDealer,” says Varianides.
